Leigh Village
The spelling of Leigh has varied through the years - Lega, Leghe, West Lygh, Legh and Lyghe are a few examples. The pronunciation is LIE as opposed to the more usual form LEE as in Leigh, Lancs. and Leigh on Sea.

Where is Leigh?
Leigh is found just a few miles to the west of Tonbridge in Kent, about 2 miles from the A21 dual carriageway exit for Sevenoaks (south) and Hildenborough.
From the M25
Leave the M25 at Junction 5 the Sevenoaks turning, and follow the A21 south, towards "Hastings". After approximately 3 miles leave the A21 (at the bottom of a hill) onto the B245 signposted to Hildenborough (the second exit from the roundabout).
After 2 miles, as you enter Hildenborough, turn right following signs to Leigh and Penshurst. Go down the hill, past Hildenborough railway station, and turn right at T-junction onto onto the B2027 ( under the A21 flyover).
Village social life and organisations
Leigh has a very lively social life. For up to date information on all the village social, sporting and other organisations, plus details of schools and other amenities, please contact the official Leigh Village website.

Travelling by car
If you use satelite navigation postcode TN11 8QJ should take you to the village green
Parking is very limited on the road adjacent to the church building, so it is suggested that if you are visiting, leave your car somewhere round the green and then walk the short distance up the hill. Please be careful as you cross the main road.
